The Chinese Music Ensemble of New York
Founded in 1961, the Chinese Music Ensemble of New York is one of the oldest and largest Chinese orchestras in the United States playing Cantonese traditional music. They play practically every type of Chinese musical instruments. Opening Ceremonies
The Malaysian United Group Dragon Team leads the teams of racers to the main stage to welcome all and together with invited dignitaries, officially kicks-off the 31st Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in New York with a dragon eye dotting ceremony and a performance on stage.

Violinist Extraordinaire Daisy Jopling
Performing solo or with a group - Daisy Jopling & her Band play rock arrangements of great classical pieces, spiced up with some gypsy music, Irish folk music, tango and original compositions. Their latest album Who's Who, original violin arrangements of great songs by The Who, was released in September of 2019. www.daisyjoplingband.com

Classical Chinese Dance in Hanfu
Performing a Classical Chinese Dance duet and solo dance in Hanfu. Stina Wen and Wei Guo combine elements of martial arts, ballet, and folk dance, creating a captivating and visually stunning art form. Both dancers will also be dressed in Hanfu, which refers to the traditional clothing worn by the Han Chinese, enhancing the performance's cultural authenticity and expressing inner emotions to outer beauty through precise and refined movements. Taiwanese Singer – Ya-lang Huang
The former singer from Taiwan and his girlfriend Annie Lin will perform songs for showcasing the contemporary Asian attraction: a Cantonese song [Red Sun], a Mandarin song [Because I Love You], and a Taiwanese song [Effort is the Only Road to Success].

NY Shaolin Temple Kung Fu Association

Traditional Chinese Instruments Siblings
Performing the combination of the Guzheng (Chinese Zither) and Dizi (Chinese Transverse Flute), which can create a beautiful and harmonious blend of sounds. The Guzheng from Helen Bao, with its rich and resonant tones, provides a solid foundation and melodic structure, while the Dizi from Joshua Bao, adds a delicate and expressive element to the ensemble. This combination can be particularly effective in capturing the essence of traditional Chinese music and creating an energetic and surging atmosphere, reminiscent of both traditional Chinese music and the exhilarating Festival of Dragon Boat Racing.

Man Hua Huang (Jin Jin)
Man Hua is an accomplished vocalist and artist, renowned for her numerous captivating stage performances and television appearances. She achieved the distinguished title of the second-place finalist in the esteemed Sino Superstar 2015 competition. Notably, she graced the illustrious NYC Broadway stage in 2023. will perform songs for showcasing the contemporary Asian attraction: a Cantonese song [Flower Universe], a Mandarin song [Enraptured], and a Mandarin song [Di Da Di]. Taiko Drummers Perform - A group dedicated to the art of traditional Japanese Taiko drumming. The group consists of a mixture of both new and seasoned drummers, practicing regularly and performing at celebrations and events around NYC and beyond.

On Stage & roaming on the Festival grounds Jonathan Kruk - Master Storyteller
Jonathan has long enchanted children with finger fables, story theater, myths, medieval legends and the lore of the Hudson River. A full-time storyteller since 1989, he’s appeared at thousands of schools, libraries, festivals, and historic sites, many in Queens. He will tell Dragon Tales for children and families, and story theater, featuring how dragon boat racing started.
